Only 2 More Days!

Well, another day closer and just a little more excited.  I can’t wait to see it all unfold and actually happen.  Don’t forget our first day at our new home is this Sunday at the Bellevue Regal Cinema 12.  WOO HOO!!!  (I just really like saying that in my blog if you haven’t noticed.)  Let me hear you say it, too!

Showing my age….again

I know all of you who are older than me will laugh at this, but I still cannot come to terms that my physical self is actually getting older.  I’m only thirty one years old, but I am much more limited now than I want to be. 

I used be able to play golf, basketball, football, softball, etc. without having to stretch or warm up.  Last night, I couldn’t even throw Jacob’s ball up in the air without getting an excuciatingly painful cramp in my backside.  I couldn’t even walk!  Now some of you are asking yourself right now “how do get a cramp there by throwing a ball in the air?”  My answer to you is “I don’t have a clue”.  Anyway, my back is stiff almost every day now when I wake up.  That along with my recent knee problems adds up to just plain getting older.  However, I just still feel so young inside.  Even dropping off Jacob this morning at daycare, I saw some high school kids that are probably athletes and I’m asking myself “I wonder if I can run faster than them?”  Is that hilarious or what?  Do you call that childish or simply competitive?  Or both?

I just really need to excercise more often.  Time is such a commodity right now.  Some of you may be able to sympathise.  Hope this post gave you a little peek inside my personal thoughts as well as good laugh.

WOO HOO!!!!

Only four more days to grand re-opening (or moving) of UpRising Church!  After we got all of our equipment transferred earlier this week, I finally got a chance to see where we are going to be for at least the near future.  How cool is it gonna be to have church at the movie theater? 

I’m thinking comfortable stadium seating, great sound equipment, a big screen…(translated) it’s just going to be a really cool place to worship!  We are all about connecting the disconnected to God and I think our new home will actually be a great tool in doing just that.  Check us out on www.uprisingchurch.org or just swing by and see us a 10 a.m. on 9/16.  Pastor Joe will be starting a new series called “iLife”.  It will be very creative, engaging, entertaining, and authentic!  Don’t miss it.

For all the people who have helped set up on Saturday nights for the past eight months….THANK YOU!!!  We couldn’t have done it without you.  I also want to say thanks to all those who helped us move on Monday.  Some of you even sacrificed time off at work to help get the job done and we recognize and appreciate that.

I’ll say it again….WOO HOO!!!  See ya on Sunday.

Vicky Anderson

As I write this post this morning, my good friend Vicky is having surgery.  Vicky is our First Impressions Ministry Coordinator at UpRising Church and she plays a very key role in what we do on Sunday mornings.  Unfortunately for the rest of us, the extensive surgery that she is having does demand a recovery time of several months.  Although I am confident that God is control of the whole situation, please continue to keep the Anderson family in your prayers.  We will surely miss her while she is recovering.

We’re mooooving on…

I hope everyone plans on coming to our final service at the Bellevue YMCA this weekend.  We’re starting an exciting new sermon series called “iLife”.  Please be there to help send us off with a bang.

 We will be officially loading up the truck and moving out, so plan on helping us out if you can.  I’m so excited about our new home!!!  A big thanks to all, especially the McCaffrey family, who have played a key role in our ’state of transition’ over the past couple of weeks.

Church Nursery “Shower”

Have you participated in enough baby showers with family and friends this year?  If so, well, too bad.  Here is another worth really considering.

UpRising Church is having a nursery “shower” to collect supplies and equipment for our first and very own Nursery and Toddler area at our new location.  We have been blessed by what the Bellevue YMCA has shared with us for eight months, but our upcoming move will require us to have a “fresh start”.  Click here and consider helping out.
